The design process is really pretty straightforward, it usually goes something like this...


  1. 1. I receive your message through my contact form.  We discuss your design needs and timeline.

  2. 2.You decide on a package that best suits your needs.  1/3 of your payment is due upon booking the start date for your project (For projects under $1000 50% is due upfront, for projects under $500 100% is due upfront).  You will receive a Paypal invoice for your payment (Paypal accepts all major credit cards).  You may also send a check in the mail.

  3. 3.You will receive log in details for Basecamp (my project management system).  Basecamp makes it easy for us to share messages, send files and documents, and keep track of your project’s progress.

  4. 4.I send you a design worksheet to fill out and email back at your convenience.  This will give me a better idea of your vision for you site, your personal style, what your business is all about, etc.

  5. 5.On your project’s start date another 1/3 of your payment is due. 

  6. 6.You will receive mock-ups of your homepage, splash page, and logo designs first.  I generally start with the logo design first.  You will receive the first round of proofs within 3 business days of your start date.

  7. 7.Now, we begin the revision process.  I never limit revisions during the design process!  Why?  Because I want you to absolutely love your final design, of course!

  8. 8.Once we nail down your logo, splash page, and homepage designs I will create your content pages as well as finalizing any slideshows, etc.

  9. 9.I will also install your shopping cart if you are purchasing an ecommerce package and upload products according to your package outline.

  10. 10. Lastly, I will customize your blog and design your business cards and web ads.

  11. 11. Finally when you have signed off on all of your designs I will bill you the remaining 1/3 and then I will upload the site to your server and walk you through basic site and cart maintenance.


It generally takes 1-3 months to complete a site.  The timeline is greatly influenced by the revision process and communication.
